Bolivia 2008

The webGIS presented here are the result of some of the projects realized by the students of the GIS course (2007/08).
Students have exploited the knowledge they gained during the course in order to produce webGIS examples that could be used to assist decision making for risk mitigation and disaster relief operations in a region of Bolivia.

COOPI provided geographic data taken from a study aimed at reducing various kinds of natural risk in the context of the DIPECHO-COOPI project. The data focus on the municipalities of Aucapata, Ayata and Chuma, in the province of Muņecas (La Paz department) in Bolivia.

The webGIS examples have been built using MapServer and Chameleon.

Some of the webGIS designed and built by students for the course of Geographic Information Systems A.Y. 2007/2008

Data have been pre-processed by the students in order to correct some errors and inconsistencies. Therefore you are invited to take the maps purely as examples of the webGIS functionalities and not as a tool to be used in real operations.
The webGIS are presented here as they were prepared by the students for the exam, without any kind of correction.
